Day Care
Seton Care Adult Day Care centre is located within Seton Hall, our residential care home in Tweedmouth, Berwick upon Tweed. The Day Care Centre has a long established history of providing services to people from the community and is open seven days a week.
The Centre is designed for older adults and provides a warm caring atmosphere and the all important opportunity to get out of the house and mix socially with people while taking part in interesting and stimulating activities. The Day Care Centre can also provide a break for people caring for relatives as they have the reassurance of knowing they are being cared for.
‘Taster Days’
As we know that making the decision to attend a day centre can be quite daunting for some people, especially if they are on their own, we provide what we call ‘taster days’ where anyone interested is welcome to come along with family or friends to see what is on offer.
On a ‘taster day’ you would have the chance to meet people who attend the Day Centre and our staff and take part in activities being organised on that particular day. You would be welcome to join us for lunch and we would be pleased to provide you and your family / friends with all the information needed to help you decide about attending our Day Centre. If you want to arrange a ‘taster day’ please contact Seton Hall on the contact numbers provided to arrange a mutually convenient day.
A Typical Day
Transport is provided to and from our Day Centre. Our adapted mini bus will collect you at a pre arranged time to bring you to Seton Hall, you will normally arrive by 10am. You are of course free to make your own transport arrangements if you prefer but we would ask that you inform us the day before to allow our driver to rearrange their route and inform other people of possible changes to pick up times.
When you first arrive at the Day Centre a hot drink and toast or biscuits is served by staff and you are given the opportunity to settle after your trip to Seton Hall. This is followed by the days morning activity. We encourage everyone to take part in activities but anyone not wanting to participate is free to sit and watch, read or to generally relax. It is your choice.
Lunch is served within the Day Centre so there is no need for anyone to move to another area of Seton Hall and consists of a tree course meal. There are different meals to choose from and these change every day. Any special dietary needs or requests can be accommodated just ask any member of staff to inform our Catering Manager who will discuss this with you.
Lunch is followed by an afternoon activity.
You will leave the Day Centre at approximately 3.30pm and our driver will take you home. One of our staff will escort you to your door to make sure you are home safely.
